Art Final 2022!
"Mythical" is a piece I've been trying to finish for years and I decided to add it to my portfolio. It fits well with breaking through the realm of fantasy and realism. Since I'm doing 5 pieces with two fantasy, two realism, and one artwork with both, my dragon artworks are both in acrylic paints while the realism pieces are in watercolor. This one shown on the left is put well together will each individual scale. I'm still working on the planets, sky, and wings which should be done soon. The floating platforms represent the individual loneliness of this world. As we can see there aren't any other dragons in the frame. Also the curiousness of the two planets. The planets take away from the dragon and are more noticeable by being quite a different color (purple). I chose acrylic because I find the vibrant colors pop out more with the red. I can get those deep hues with acrylic which gives the fantasy theme more technique. I want to get that light source from the right side. In-person the light source more noticeable and defines the edges better with the blend of red.

Support piece: Dragon on a rock in watercolor. Was trying to see what media I wanted to do the red dragon in and decided it didn't work how I wanted it to. So therefore I tried acrylic instead and liked the texture better.
Some bird sketches
practicing the movement and lines of different size and shaped birds.
This is one of my bird pieces which I went for the peacock because it demonstrates the beauty and reflects how I interpret beauty. It's seen through the outside but on the inside, there are many flaws. Flaws like overthinking and trying to be perfect all the time. The peacock is definitely not very perfect with due to it being super noisy and getting in the way all the time. I grew up raising peacocks and it shows how we live in an imperfect world that tries to be perfect. I like the draped wing coming to the body with protection. All birds are really fragile with many predators around. I added those colorful clouds to the background because almost every morning I get to see the sunrise and those beautiful clouds. These little details are added to my life experiences and how I view the world from the inside and out.

This is a Kingfisher and I decided to do this bird because I wanted to give it a lost feeling. The bird is looking off into the distance and appears to be waiting for something. I gave it more of a mysterious aurora. I picked watercolor since I'm doing the two birds in full watercolor. I like how the bird came out at the end and the desiccated wood texture. The deep hues in blue really stand out and the small orbs that I've created in all my pieces help take an eye off the bird for just a moment.
